Yackandandah Kindergarten provides high quality, inclusive pre-school education. Our emphasis on learning through play offers children a safe and caring environment in which to explore and grow in areas of health, learning, personal and social development, and wellbeing. 

Our Philosophy

Working in partnership with Yackandandah Primary School, Yackandandah Kindergarten belongs to the community of Yackandandah and surrounds. It aspires to provide high quality, inclusive early childhood education.

 

We provide play-based learning experiences within a safe and caring environment in which to explore and grow in areas of health, learning, personal and social development, and wellbeing.

 

We respect and accept each child as an individual, valuing unique abilities, interests and needs.

 

Yackandandah Kindergarten also respects the role of the family in shaping the child’s learning and development and acknowledges the importance of community involvement.

 

Yackandandah Kindergarten is committed to sustainable practices and fosters environmental awareness.

Our Educational Programs

We offer sessions weekly on during the Victorian school terms. Children can enrol in partly State Government funded and non-funded program sessions.

The State Government fully funds 15 hours per week of 3yo and 4yo kinder on 2026

3yo Program

A 3-year-old kindergarten program is a play-based learning program that helps children develop social skills, language, independence, and confidence through fun activities, routines, and guided play in a safe environment.

Pre-Prep

A 4-year-old kindergarten program is a play-based learning program that prepares children for school by developing early literacy, numeracy, social skills, independence, and confidence through structured routines, group activities, and hands-on experiences.

Non-Funded /Busk Kinder -School Readiness

Non-funded Bush Kinder and School Readiness programs offer additional learning experiences that support children’s confidence, independence, and skills through play-based activities.
