Yackandandah is a picturesque small town in North East Victoria, full of history and character. It provides a range of valuable services for many smaller surrounding communities including Osbournes Flat, Allans Flat, Indigo Valley and Wooragee.
Yackandandah Primary School and Yackandandah Kindergarten are at the heart of the town. Established in 1977, Yackandandah Kindergarten is a not-for-profit organisation that provides high quality, inclusive preschool education. Our emphasis on learning through play offers children a safe and caring environment in which to explore and grow in areas of health, learning, personal and social development, and wellbeing.
Our kindergarten respects and accepts each child as an individual, valuing unique abilities, interests and needs. We also respect the role of the family in shaping a child’s learning and development, and we acknowledges the importance of community involvement.
After 34 years operating as a stand alone, parent run kindergarten a partnership has been forged with the Yackandandah Primary School. The school identifies the importance of the kindergarten retaining its community focus.
Since its early days, Yackandandah Kindergarten has evolved from a stand-alone, parent-operated kindergarten and today is a partner of the Yackandandah Primary School. Community remains a core component of our identity and we are proud to offer support services for not only preschool children, but their families too. This service is essential in assisting families feel part of the community and overcoming the isolation that often comes from living in a rural community.
Yackandandah Kindergarten is a licensed children’s service operated by the Approved Provider, Yackandandah Primary School. Yackandandah Primary School.
